  I.  Introduction
It is important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically because in order for us to lead our patients and clients down the pathway to reach optimum health and wellness, we must use pathways and roads we have also well travelled.  In order for us to have empathy and understanding, we must also know and understand the current struggles of our clients so we can offer to them the best advice, care, service and support and have them feel that we are with them on their sometimes long, forbidding journey to health and wellness.
I need to overcome my present set of barriers, severely arthritic knees and develop my own exercise program, adopt better eating habits and better sleep patterns so I can be at my optimum best physical, mental and spiritual awareness to lead my clients down the pathway to health and wellness.  I need to be aware of all their challenges, temptations, barriers and obscurities that they may encounter so I can give them the assurance that I have the knowledge of the journey they are about to embark.  My clients will be able to surely say that I am on their side and am in complete understanding of their position and will be able to support them in all ways necessary to ensure their ultimate success to better enriched lifestyles and better health.

  1. Hi Lisa. Great personal assessment, you are very tuned in to your health and wellness needs. This will serve you well when you realize your dream of being a teacher. Having the ability to be compassionate, empathetic and relatable are valuable traits to have when educating others. It looks like you will have no problems in this area, and I foresee many people benefiting from your knowledge. Best of luck to you.

  2. Hi there, nice work. I really like how you were specific in that you mentioned wanting to strengthen the right ankle, calves, thighs, knees and hips so as to help with arthritis. I think being specific helps in understanding what is it that you are wanting to work on. Helped me think about being specific about my own goals.

Tai Chi classes are great, it is low impact, requires lots of breathing which really helps the whole body. I tried it a few weeks ago and it was awesome. I hope you have fun with it.

  3. Hi Lisa:

You sound a lot like me... I think that my biggest challenge in my quest for integral health is the physical part. I also need to put together an exercise routine to where I can maintain it and stay consistent. I think that once we have a physical exercise routine established, and we fight through all of our aches and pains, it will get easier and we will begin our life; our new healthier life.

  4. Great project! Your goal developments are great choices. I also want to incorpor a more stable daily work-out loke you suggested. The "Purification Rundown" is something I also need to try. Good luck following your program! I know that you will be successful.

  5. I like the way you rated yourself on a scale.. I think overall I am doing really well except for the psychological part of it.. I have barriers too that prevent me from reaching my full potential. Life is always going to be difficult... when trials and tribulations come it is how you handle them that matters... going thru a storm means just that you are "going thru" but that will be a day that the storm will be over. You did a great job on your project. I hope that the goals you set for yourself so well.. remember stay dedicated and don't give up you will see results.
